  • Introduction: It has been found that 50% of the population with Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder present symptoms during their adult ages, causing difficulties at functional level and in their life quality. This associated with dual pathology has shown an existing relation between the use of psychoactive substances and adult Attention-deficit hyperactivity. Method and materials: A narrative analysis where drug users diagnosed with Attention-deficit hyperactivity talk about their biography emphasizing in three important aspects behind their life decisions like: attributable patterns, diagnosis construction in different life areas and the association of substances use using the theory of representations. Different interviews where done, recorded and transcript for later analysis. Results: Was observed that de unknown of Attention-deficit hyperactivity diagnose, and the low academic performance are common factors. This results can´t be generalized due to the sample size and the qualitative model. Discussion: Difficulties exist expressed through the theory of the representations based in the pour conception of the Attention-deficit hyperactivity diagnosis in patients.
