abstract

  • This research was focused on seeing how the body, dance and politics talk in the discourse of Colectivo Artístico y cultural Abya-Yala. This Collective uses contemporary dance as a discursive mechanism to share its message: you only need your body and your disposition to be able to dance. The interest in this Collective is to see their artistic-political positions, the genealogies of these positions and see how they materialize. It was important to highlight the construction of the project because they have an exemplary community network for those who are interested in this type of project or want to undertake one. From a qualitative analysis with an ethnographic approach, I made the construction of the collective and saw how the discourse operated and carried out . The interviews gave a voice to those people who were responsible for the creation of the Collective and who helped me understand its objectives and the participant observation with the contemporary dance school for young people managed to glimpse the materiality of these objectives
