During the Santos governments, Colombia developed policies to change its international image through sport. This strategy based on high-performance sport and regional events had to enable the country to internationalize the peace process and attract investment. This study does consider foreign policy as a part of public policies and sport may be one of the sectors of action of it. From a constructivist approach, it will be demonstrated that the actions for the sports leadership of Colombia reproduce the classic scheme of a foreign policy of the periphery and that the actions deployed do not correspond to the objectives that it is proposed to achieve in terms of international image communication.
