  • Introduction: The beginning of the sexual life in girls have at one`s disposal to suffer the consequences inherent in this activity, it include unwanted pregnancy. For the purpose of this study, investigate made inquiries in national context about the association between do not want the first pregnancy in adolescent and various sociodemographic, individual and health services factors. Methodology: An exploratory, descriptive and analytical study. The population studied come from the National Demographic and Health 2010. The criteria to select the population were women under 20 years, who attended their first pregnancy at the time of the survey. Descriptive, comparative and associative analyzes were conducted. Results: 286 Colombian women were selected less or equal than 20 years with their first pregnancy. 71. 3% were unwanted pregnancies and 28. 7% were wanted pregnancy. Statistical association was found between unwanted pregnancy and current school attendance OR 2. 3 (95% CI 1. 2 to4. 56), feel that they have missed more sex education. OR1. 94 (95% CI 1. 11 to3. 36), agreement pregnant withher couple OR0. 05 (IC95% 0. 02 to 0. 1) and highly education OR: 3. 5 (95% CI1. 397 to 8. 792). Conclusion: There is statistically significant association of unwanted pregnancies with a high educational level attained by the woman and the age of the husband. More studies are needed to check the other results.
