Hay gran heterogeneidad en la literatura respecto a los métodos utilizados para realizar evaluación y tamizaje en pacientes con neuropatía periférica, incluyendo diferentes cuestionarios (por ejemplo, The Michigan Neuropathy Screening Instrument), evaluación en el examen físico (p. ejemplo. test motores y evaluación sensorial -pinprick sensation test, Semmes‐Weinstein monofilament test), así como diferentes métodos paraclínicos (test genéticos), anatomopatológicos y test de inmunohistoquimica e in vitro. Siguiendo la metodología Cochrane para revisiones sistemáticas de la literatura realizaremos un análisis y actualización de los métodos diagnósticos y de tamizaje para la evaluación de la neuropatía periférica según su etiología y utilidad actual. Así mismo, realizaremos un análisis de métodos novedosos o potenciales que se realizarán a futuro. Con esto, daremos mayor claridad, nivel de evidencia yrelevancia de los diferentes métodos. Esta revisión sistemática determinará los métodos de tamizaje más utilizados en neuropatía, y se clasificará según su relevancia clínica y utilidad.Modelo de Investigación: Se realizará una revisión sistemática de la literatura de acuerdo con Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses declaration criteria and the current recommendations of the Cochrane Collaboration.
There is great heterogeneity in the literature regarding the methods used to perform evaluation and screening in patients with peripheral neuropathy, including different questionnaires (for example, The Michigan Neuropathy Screening Instrument), evaluation in the physical examination (for example, motor tests and evaluation sensory -pinprick sensation test, Semmes‐Weinstein monofilament test), as well as different paraclinical methods (genetic tests), anatomopathological and immunohistochemical and in vitro tests. Following the Cochrane methodology for systematic reviews of the literature, we will carry out an analysis and update of diagnostic and screening methods for the evaluation of peripheral neuropathy according to its etiology and current utility. Likewise, we will carry out an analysis of novel or potential methods that will be carried out in the future. With this, we will give greater clarity, level of evidence and relevance of the different methods. This systematic review will determine the most widely used screening methods in neuropathy, and will be classified according to their clinical relevance and usefulness.Research Model: A systematic review of the literature will be carried out in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses declaration criteria and the current recommendations of the Cochrane Collaboration
