  • Qualitative, exploratory study that seeks to respond empirically and inductively to the research question: what are the discursive practices on family planning between the nurse and the woman with cancer who will start treatment with radiotherapy at the National Institute of Cancerology (INC)? , January-May 2020?, in an attempt to overcome the current practice of onco-fertility counseling, which focuses on the reproductive function of women and, therefore, on the preservation of fertility (FP); to broaden the horizon towards other areas in sexual and reproductive health not yet explored. From the theoretical position of ethnomethodology developed by Harold Garfinkel (1984), in his recent advances in discursive psychology, the objective is to identify the discursive practices that emerge in conversation during family planning counseling given by nurses to women with cancer who will start radiotherapy treatment at the INC, between January and May 2020, with the purpose of adopting a symmetrical position, which recognizes and legitimizes the knowledge of the latter. The research findings will connect the theoretical problems of intersubjectivity construction and negotiation of expert and lay knowledge in situations of uncertainty. It will last 18 months and will lead to the publication of an article in an international indexed journal, to two presentations (national and international), to the development of a virtual tool as pedagogical material to socialize the results with women with cancer, to the realization a workshop with nurses from the selected institution on discursive practices during family planning counseling and a joint research seminar for the socialization of the final results of the project in front of the three participating university institutions, all of which will contribute to the understanding of problems associated with the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 3 and 5, in their goals for 2030, to guarantee reproductive rights, universal access to sexual and reproductive health services, and the integration of reproductive health in the national programs, such as the one offered in this matter by the INC, State Social Enterprise, a national benchmark for cancer control.
