The following research pretends to determine the influence of voting transferences in the election results at the national and territorial levels of the Party of the U in the Colombian departments of Córdoba and Sucre between 2010 and 2015. The electoral networks and alliances between the region’s chiefs and the candidates is analyzed to understand how it gives way to the formation of powerful political clans, capable of mobilizing the electorate beyond partisanship and personalist politics. This way, through the comparative analysis of the electoral results, archival research and the electoral cartography, this research studies the power structures of two departments in which politics is the result of the competition or agreements between political families, who use elections as a means to establish group dynamics which give sense to the local political system.
