The present work is an ethnographic approach to the religious practices of the so-called Universal Gnostic Church. From the concept of secret I reconstruct my experiences as a candidate for initiation to the first camera. In this passage, I speak of the testimonies of the people who, in one way or another, are linked to the first step of the universal Gnostic hierarchy. In the first chapter, I map the structure of the church and explain the dimensions of the secret in some meditation activities. In the second part, I focus on personal experiences with the religious secret and show its paradoxical character within the Universal Gnostic Church. In both segments, I deepen my ethnographic account with descriptions of spiritual exercises, first chamber sessions, semi-structured interviews, profiles of attendees, and informal conversations. I combine, among other things, an argumentative line based on sociological debates around the secret and an ethnographic narrative with literary overtones. This experiential account is a testimony of the development of the so-called New Religiosities in Colombia, beyond providing a strong thesis on the history of the New Age or its cultural impact on contemporary Colombian society, I open some questions in the field: What are the implications of attributing the notion of new religiosity to the not so new spiritual forms of the New Age? How is the secret defined in anthropological approaches to modern esotericism in Colombia?
