abstract

  • The following monograph presents and analyzes the processes of embodiment that some women go through when incorporating a healthy and comprehensive lifestyle. Where the different practices of female physical and emotional healing allow to create new meanings about the woman's body, pain, suffering and illness. From the different stories, where I include myself, it can be seen that in each woman this healing process behaves differently depending on a life history marked by patriarchal power structures that are hidden in the different stages of the life of the woman; such as motherhood, marriage or life as a couple, menstrual cycles, etc. Therefore, the meaningful practices that are integrated into this daily healing routine are actions that allow us to question and subvert the control over women's bodies.
