abstract

  • Teleworking has been gaining importance in recent years, largely facilitated by access to the Internet and the various tools offered by the network. Similarly, globalization has allowed people to work to reach different parts of the world. This year it has become even more important due to the Covid 19 that has forced to strengthen this way of working, expanding even to sectors that had not been deepened for this type of work. Hand in hand with the increase in virtual work, the hours of connection to the network and the work in front of a computer increase, causing stress, work overload, loss of boundaries between work and home, making it necessary to fulfill both functions simultaneously . Hence the interest in delving into the subject looking for possible risk factors and possible strategies to mitigate these difficulties. Objective: To carry out a scope review of the literature that allows identifying protective and risk factors in emotional stability in workers who telework. Materials and methods: a scoping review of the literature of available studies was carried out, in MeSH terms. The databases used were: EMBASE / Medline, Scopus, PubMed and Google Scholar from any country of origin, available in full text, in English and Spanish, published between 2010 and 2020. A total of 18 articles were included. Results: Eighteen cross-sectional, longitudinal and qualitative quantitative studies were selected from which information was extracted on the definition and conceptualizations of telework, its strengths and difficulties, as well as conceptualizations of stress, psychosocial risks, programs carried out by the state and companies. which finally describes recommendations to prevent or mitigate these risks mentioned throughout the article. Conclusion: teleworking is an important tool both for employers when they want to reduce costs, as well as in times of quarantine or isolation to perform different jobs. Care cannot be the sole responsibility of the employer, it is also concluded that, in principle of co-responsibility, the employee must seek his own good and that of his family. Teleworking in some companies will continue, making it necessary to also strengthen prevention programs, promoting both emotional and physical health, seeking to control the psychosocial, emotional and physical risks of workers to the maximum.
