This case study explains the influence of the air power in the power asymmetry between the Armed Forces and the FARC-EP, from the Operation called “Vuelo de Angel”. It seeks to analyze and describe how air power change the power balance in the Colombian armed conflict. Taking into account, the definition of Steven Metz about asymmetry, it will be assumed that the asymmetry involves maximizing the advantages and exploiting the weaknesses of the actors, in order to reach a goal either political or military. The research result, will provide the thesis that the operation “Vuelo de angel”, was the turning point of the Colombian conflict. Through document analysis and interviews, will establish the hypothesis that air power effectively has the ability to alter the differences between the Armed Forces and the FARC-EP.
