  • Tourism determines a substantial source of income in the economies of developing countries and has become an important player in international trade. This research as a general objective aims to carry out an analysis of the perception of local entrepreneurs in the accommodation sector regarding the economic, social and environmental impact derived from the implementation of community tourism initiatives in the district of Riohacha, department of La Guajira, Colombia. Thus, the applied methodology is based on the qualitative method, which is characterized by the use of interview techniques, to obtain information through the participation of ten (10) local entrepreneurs from the accommodation sector; The tabulation was carried out through the Nvivo program, executed through two criteria (opportunities and limitations) for the analysis of the responses, which allows obtaining clear results and allows them to be related to the objectives set out in the study. It is concluded that entrepreneurs affirm that tourism can have positive economic impacts such as job creation, in the social point of view the strengthening of identity and in the environmental aspect the preservation of resources. According to the results obtained, it is recommended to potentiate community tourism through strategies that strengthen the economy, cultural identity and environmental resources of the Riohacha district, the above through the different use of the territory and its resources, promoting positive actions for the environment. environment, recognizing the benefits of the Wayuu cultural heritage and the interaction of these elements.
