abstract

  • This paper examines the construction of memories of young indigenous women displaced to Bogotá by the armed conflict. It shows how these memories are subalternized in the context of transitional justice, and seeks to disrupt structures of power and domination in order to break through the kaleidoscope of ongoing violence against indigenous women and move toward a positive peace of transformation. The construction of memory in its various forms, from active expression to strategic silence, is a powerful tool. In order to reveal this, different theories of feminism, memory, and transitional justice are brought into a knowledge dialogue embedded in the current concrete Colombian context and linked to the practical process with the Uitoto women. The process was carried out in the form of several meetings with interactive methods of exchange and mutual learning.
