  • The sedentary lifestyle is one of those phenomena related to the deterioration of health, according to OMS. Across the world, 23% of adults and 81% of school-age adolescents do not remain sufficiently active. (OMS, 2017). Getting people moving is an important strategy to reduce the burden of non-communicable diseases, according to the world body, our adolescent population is potentially the most vulnerable. That is why the changing situation of the world mediated by technology and the different social factors especially affect the little social coverage in this area; The change in lifestyles and lack of adherence to physical activity represent a risk to your health. The present investigation intends to carry out an integral evaluation of the construction of the concepts of sedentary lifestyle and physical activity in adolescents, analyzing the factors that influence its practice and its possible projection in the adoption of healthy behaviors, besides contributing to the possible Preparation of plans and programs by institutions and decision makers. The research developed was of a mixed nature because its type of study was qualitative and quantitative, with an explanatory approach in social research. The study population was constituted by school adolescents between the eleven and fifteen years of the District Institution La Belleza los Libertadores of the fourth town of San Cristóbal in Bogotá. Within the methodology used, the main instrument of collection was the structured interviews, understanding this technique as exploratory within the categories to be analyzed, allowing a different exploration where the adolescents reflected the way of understanding and interacting with the concepts and patterns based in their realities.
