The present article describes the philosophical problem that emerges from the sanctioning scheme of teenage criminal offenders in Colombian criminal law. It approaches the problem from the concept of moral autonomy, as well as its materialization within the element of culpability introduced by the Colombian legal scheme of a felony. Then, it illustrates de way in which a society´s culture of legality can impact a teenager´s moral autonomy. Last, it presents the way in which the imposition of punishments to teenagers may entail the application of a model of strict liability. The conclusion hopes to show why this type of scheme constitutes a philosophical problem, according to these terms.
