In late 2012, the bankruptcy of the largest brokerage in Colombia, InterBolsa, triggered a financial panic. By analyzing different event in global financial crisis, it appears that the sector was about to collapse and that the threat was on the verge of becoming a systemic crisis that had permeated all sectors of the economy, including the State. In this context, the paper makes an analysis of the international crisis, its causes and consequences to analyze the case of Colombia, in turn, It is an attempt to rationally explain why the crisis caused by liquidity problems in the brokerage firm was frustrated, understanding that the scenario was ripe and the crisis was imminent, according to research. The document seeks to establish responsibilities between different actors and, in the end, it makes a financial analysis of the firm to look for signs that the collapse could have anticipated.
