abstract

  • As a consequence of the pandemic for COVID19, in Bogotá Colombia, in 2020, a transverse program with two measurements pre and post intervention was implemented. It was based on free and directed games so that we can evaluate the effects on executive function planning variable, Vo2max and physical activity levels on students in 5th grade at a school in Bogota. This study included 27 children between 9 and 11 years old who were previously chosen to the opening alternation stipulated by the National Ministry of Education on October 9th, 2020. Enrolling students were possible by mailing parents, virtual meetings and phone calls. The study was socialized with parents individually, and those who accepted participating in it, signed a consent and informed approval. To measure the three variables in this study, the (PTM) Porteus Test Maze to check planning, Course Navette to check Vo2max, and PAQ-C questionnaire to evaluate physical activity levels (NAF) were implemented. The intervention was carried out in 10 weeks and 40 sessions 100 minutes each one, playful and recreational activities done on two different moments of break time (morning and afternoon) took place. The study showed meaningful changes on the three variables mentioned before.
