abstract

  • This research explores archaeologically the knowledge constituted on the peasantry in Colombia, in the period 1965-1975, taking as main empirical material a documentary photographic archive that we will relate to hemerography and the socio-historical reconstructions of the decade. Our purpose is to relate the archive, its conditions, its future, means and definitions with the constitution of political subjectivities. Subjectivities are understood here as processes that refer to socially shared symbolic universes, endow the subject with a cultural language that then internalizes, and thus acquires a singularity that characterizes it and finally represents it as collective being. We will decipher, through the visible and the hidden of the photographic representations, the possible statements and the approaches from the sociology. We will see how discourses, which are otherwise contradictory, function as homogenization projects of peasant culture, taking place in the sphere of heterogeneity: peasants marked by differences, multiplicity of subjectivities politically involved in the processes inscribed within the agrarian reform.
