abstract

  • In the academic debates on business management, the issue of business durability has been discussed on a recurring basis, seeking answers that allow companies to achieve a healthy and lasting life. However, and despite the findings found it is necessary to conduct studies in sectors that present early mortality situations. The purpose of this research is to determine the factors that affect the business durability of companies in the Occupational Health and Safety services sector in Bogotá. In response to this, we opted for an exploratory study with a qualitative approach, which adopts the phenomenological positioning and the interpretivist perspective. The analysis of four cases of companies belonging to the sector located in Bogotá is used. For the collection of information, interviews were conducted with the managers and founders of the companies, and this information was triangulated with documents from trade unions in which the phenomenon of durability could be explored. The atlas Ti software tool was used for information processing. Some of the results obtained indicate that for the companies studied, within the conditions that have influenced their durability are, people, as an invaluable factor in achieving business objectives, and change as an engine of adaptation; as well as, the innovation in the search of new opportunities and therefore the satisfaction of the client, directed to the consolidation of the company and therefore to its organizational growth.
