It is proposed to interpret the Aristotelian concept of eudaimonia (εὐδαιμονία) on the basis of the philosophy of Emmanuel Levinas. To do this, we start from the Levinasean notion of joy and its preconceptual character, in order to clarify the direction that would allow us to move from that preconceptual joy to the concept of eudaimonia. Then a brief reconstruction of what is proposed by Aristotle in the Nicomachean Ethics (2005) is made, in the light of what will be called here the Levinasean Scheme of Conceptualization. After this, the aim is to develop the Levinasean version of the aforementioned concept. It is argued that what is here baptized as timely resolution is that sought-after concept. Finally, some possible objections are anticipated and the respective conclusions are drawn from the work carried out.
