In the preoperative period when there are manifestations of anxiety and subjective fears related to the amputation, the interventions are aimed at promoting the verbalization an identification of resources. In the postoperative period the process of adaptation and rehabilitation is accompanied with the management of the most demanding psychosocial consequences for the person.
