PhD in Political Studies from Universidad Externado de Colombia. Master in European Business from the École Supérieur de Commerce de Paris (ESCP). Professor at the Faculty of International, Political, and Urban Studies at the Universidad del Rosario, and Director of the Observatory of Venezuela.

Research focuses on democratic backsliding, paradigms in the Venezuelan political process, political and international dynamics in Venezuela, its relationship with Colombia, and the current migratory situation.

As director of the Venezuelan Observatory, leads a team that do research and consulting about the Venezuelan case and its bilateral relationship with Colombia. Currently the Observatory is developing, with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the following projects: the Migration Binnacle (La Bitácora Migratoria) and the Colombia-Venezuela Radar (Radar Colombia Venezuela). https://urosario.edu.co/observatorio-de-venezuela/inicio

PhD with honors. Cum Laude in Thesis defense. Distinguished Professor of the Faculty of International Relations of the Universidad del Rosario. Annual Award Teaching of Excellence "Juan Agustín Uricoechea y Navarro" to the best professor of the Faculty of International Relations of the Universidad del Rosario (years 2004, 2005 and 2018).
