  • It was analyzed how gender is specifically linked to the practice or non-practice of physical activity, of teachers of some schools in Bogotá D.C., based on the approach to life trajectories and socio-cultural contexts. This qualitative research aimed to analyze how gender is linked to the practice of physical activity in teachers of a school in Bogotá from the approach to life trajectories and socio-cultural contexts. For the development of the study, the selected population is made up of female teachers from all areas linked to an I.E.D. from the city of Bogotá, D.C., Colombia. For its development the semi-structured interview was used on the reasons for the practice of physical activity from a gender perspective, these focused on the selected female teacher diets. At a later stage there are the stories (life stories), in which information is exchanged between the teachers and the researcher, where there is an in-depth communication based on a guide. The research path has led to the description of life experiences and stories and it was analyzed how gender is specifically linked to the practice or non-practice of physical activity, teachers of some schools in Bogotá DC, from the approach to the trajectories of life and sociocultural contexts. According to the information collected, it is possible to classify the practice of physical activity in teachers according to the gender category.
