  • American Public Health concept -Assumed as a specific body of knowledge and its multiple applications- played a key role as a continental tool of domination. From the last two decades of XIX century until the two first of the XX, its importance transcended the scientific interest, molding the geopolitical and sociocultural values of the whole continent. this investigation attempts to identify the multiple factors that were involved in the construction of an utilitary Public Health concept, able to ease american domination in the first two decades of the XX century.
