Otero Bahamón, Silvia Alejandra  |  Faculty Member Person

Assistant professor at the Faculty of International, Political and Urban Studies at the Universidad del Rosario, in Bogotá, Colombia. She is a political scientist, completed her doctorate in Political Science at Northwestern University (2016), and a master's degree from the same institution (2013).

Her research topics include social policy, political economy, comparative politics in Latin America, state formation, and qualitative methods for causal inference. Specifically, her research agenda focuses on the subnational dimensions of inequality, on which he is currently writing a book on subnational social inequality in Latin America and its reduction methods, and conducting a research project on income inequality trajectories in four Colombian cities. She has published her studies in Latin American Politics and Society and Studies in Comparative International Development, among other indexed journals.
